Miss Peaches theme camp at Third Degree 2023

We’ve just returned from the fabulous The 3rd Degree burn event, where we ran our new theme camp, Miss Peaches, with a fabulous crew.

The concept for Miss Peaches is an interactive performance art camp where the performances don’t happen until the audience is participating.

Some of the events we ran included bad jazz karaoke, sea shanties, music jams, a Shakespearean-esque masquerade ball with games, rap battles and burlesque, improv and burlesque workshops and ThirdX talks.

The camp experiential setup included our popup Globe theatre entrance facade, the Wonky Fox bar, karaoke stage set, our fake fire pit, the Jolly Roger flying on the flag pole, a fabulous trippy secret tunnel exit leading to a fairy lit mush love garden and our tuxedo clad letterbox!

Running a theme camp is a lot of work and also a lot of fun! Made all the more amazing by our awesome crew and the creativity everyone brings.

The whole event was awesome, with so much creativity and experiential delights on display. My favourites were the effigy and temple burns, the fire dancing, the amazing spaces created by the Unicorns, GiddyUp, Newtopia, Debonair Mantsion, Bourges Fleouf and the Nad Rad, as well as the art – the hope sign, escape room, magical structures, the magical Narnia wardrobe, the roving bed art car and laser light and sound shows. I had some beautiful experiences with sacred cacao sharing circles, swimming naked in the creek, sunset at the waterfall, the champagne lingerie brekkie, watching Rocky Horror and learning to juggle! And there was so much I missed and didn’t get to as well.

We were welcomed into our space and farewelled by a flock of black cockatoos, camped with several giant lizard friends, were raided by possums and had a very friendly jumping spider friend.

Can’t wait to do it all again at the next event!
