My landscape abstracts evolve from the unnoticed textures of the earth. Each piece begins with a photograph of ground, rocks, sand, or other natural surfaces—fragments of landscape often walked over without a second glance. Inspired by time spent walking on the beach or in the bush, swimming in the sea and sitting beneath waterfalls, this work is a balm against internal chaos.

Rendered in acrylic, pastel, ink, and pen on either canvas or paper, each piece is a meditative vision and an emotional landscape, depicting places of solace, restoration, and inner balance. What starts as a close-up of the earth becomes a place of inner reflection: soft washes echo the movement of water, intricate lines recall sediment and strata, and delicate marks vibrate with the quiet pulse of the natural world.

Through my abstract explorations, I invite the viewer to pause and reflect: to wander through memory, to feel rooted, and to encounter nature not just as a place, but as a sanctuary for the self.

Below are the original photographs with the painting they inspired.
