A Shakesperean-inspired temporary bawdy nightclub

Originally designed for Wild Yam’s “A Midsummer Night’s Yam” in 2022, the Globe theatre facade is often the entrance to the Miss Peaches theme camp. With the help of Will Shakespeare (aka Legs 11:11), the space transforms into a Shakesperean-inspired night club where events such as Bogan Shakespeare and Miss Peaches Masquerade Ball “Now is the Summer of our DiscoTent” take place.

Before we built the theatre façade, I created a scaled prototype model to determine sizes, engineering and structural requirements. We then designed and built it as a modular “kit” that could be assembled onsite, to make transportation easy and leave no trace. I was very excited to receive an art grant from BOSS in 2023 to evolve the concept and take it further.

Dimensions: 2.4m high x 3.6m wide. The entrance doorway is 1.6m deep, .8m wide and 2.2m high.
